Celebrating Music from Syria and Egypt

Syrian and American musicians come together to celebrate music by composers from Syria and Egypt for the Mount Prospect Public Library’s Festival Night! The ensemble will present original works composed by Issam Rafea, Sufi-inspired violin solos by Abdo Dagher, and the violin-cello duo of Gamal Abdel-Rahim, whose music combines Egyptian modal scales, rhythms, and melodies with European-inspired harmonies.
