Proud and Loud: Disability Art and Music Showcase

This summer, join Crossing Borders Music for a series of free performances across Chicago as part of this year’s Night Out in the Parks.
This Disability Pride Month, Crossing Borders Music is proud to present an uplifting celebration of artistic expression, inclusion, and collaborative performance that amplifies the lived experiences of disabled artists. “Proud and Loud: Disability Art and Music Showcase” is a new, multi-disciplinary collaboration between Genevieve Ramos and Crossing Borders Music, rooted in our shared work and values of disability justice, multiculturalism, intersectionalism, and community-centered art that affirms that the opposite of “oppression” is “expression.” “Community Expressions” will provide an uplifting, inclusive, and community-centered array of artistic expressions, including performances from the Chicago Disability arts community curated by Genevieve Ramos.
“Proud and Loud: Disability Art and Music Showcase” is presented as part of the Chicago Park District’s Night Out in the Parks series, supported by the Mayor’s Office and the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events. The Night Out in the Parks program presents cultural events year-round in neighborhood parks throughout the city.
