We Walk: A Celebration of Black Community

“We Walk: A Celebration of Black Community” is a stroll-through exhibition highlighting the excellence of Black America. Organized by the Haitian American Museum of Chicago and Emerald City Coffee, the event features 19 exhibits celebrating Black contributions in the fields of visual art, music, science, Chicago history, US history, and more! The event will take place on Racine Avenue between Wilson and Broadway. Masks and physical distancing are required for all participants.

Crossing Borders Music will participate as an exhibitor, with violinist Rasa Mahmoudian sharing violin melodies by Black composers and the stories behind them from approximately noon to 2pm, and Crossing Borders Music cellist Tom Clowes sharing cello melodies and compositions by Black composers and the stories behind them from approximately 2PM to 4PM.
